Our California Lemon Law changed November, 2024. Vehicles sold strictly as “used” are not longer applicable.
What about Chevrolet’s sold from a California GM dealer as a “GM CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED?”. These vehicles *can qualify for California Lemon Law protection as the CPO warranty is a “new” warranty, thus meeting California Lemon Law criteria for a new warranty being issued. You see, CPO vehicle’s come with a manufacturers warranty.
So, when considering purchasing a used Chevrolet, please know that so long as you purchase it from a California GM dealer, and it is being sold (with proper documentatiion) as a GM CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED, you will be afforded the protections available under the California Lemon Law.
